Georgetown Texas Bridal Portraits: Katie’s family ranch bridals in Florence

Aug 2, 2017

I knew I would love working with Katie and Carter the moment I met them!  We first met at the Open House at their wedding venue (The Springs in Georgetown) and I remember chatting with them about their fur-baby, Ellie Mae!  I loved that their fur baby had a middle name, too, just like our oldest four-legged child!  More than just clicking with them as people, I could tell they had the biggest hearts and put others first.  It was such an honor to be on this journey with them and to photograph their blush wedding at The Springs in Georgetown this May.  Since they’re officially married, I can finally share Katie’s Georgetown Texas Bridal Portraits!

We photographed Katie’s bridal portraits at the family ranch in Florence.  I love that it was a location that was sentimental to Katie and her soon-to-be husband, Carter.  It was also a location that didn’t have a set time we could be on property.  More than that, there weren’t any photo-bombers or spectators.  If you’re still looking for a location for your bridal session, think about finding a place that lets us shoot close to sunset and lets us have the property all to ourselves.  It’s a totally different atmosphere and will really improve your afternoon of bridal portraits!

One really neat fact about Katie’s Sottero and Midgley wedding dress was that it didn’t need a single alteration!  It fit perfectly as it was!  How cool is that?!?!

Katie told me that she “would LOVE pictures in bluebonnets! Would a bride even be Texan if she didn’t have a bluebonnet bridal portrait?!”  :D  We timed her session just right to be able to include the gorgeous flower in her bridal portraits!

Katie’s GORGEOUS bridal bouquet was made by Sixpence Floral!  If you’re looking for a florist, I highly recommend you contact Stella!  She’s amazing!

Katie’s search for the perfect sofa for her Georgetown Texas bridal portraits was a funny one!  After contacting many rental companies, she ultimately found this couch at a retail store in downtown Georgetown.  She asked nicely and the store let her borrow it for the afternoon!  I just love that she knew she wanted a sofa, she knew she wanted one with color, and she went through an unorthodox method to find it!  It was the perfect addition and the perfect color to match her wedding!  It also goes to prove that you never know until you ask!

Would you believe Katie thought she might not be able to rock the serious face!?!?!  She totally killed it!!  #modelstatus!
